"It’s really not often one gets to make history.  But this formal inauguration of Women in Mining Canada is just that — making history.  Of course, Women in Mining isn’t only part of Canada’s history.  A movement of international scope has emerged — among women taking their place in the mining industry and its related professions worldwide.  I would like to extend my congratulations to you on the inauguration of this new organization, and by offering my support in your efforts to fulfil WIM’s goals and objectives both here and abroad."

Women in Mining Forum

CIM 2012 Conference

May 3-12, 2012

Shaw Conference Centre

9797 Jasper Avenue Northwest
Edmonton, Alberta

Women in Mining (WIM) Canada will host a forum highlighting how women from all facets of the minerals industry are helping break down the barriers to full inclusion in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

A lineup of panelists will share personal and professional accounts of their journeys to overcome conventional limitations and create a new face on the mining front.

"The Women in Mining forum was very exciting for me. It was well attended, and included speakers from many different sectors and locations, who were each passionate about their roles in the mining industry. There was a positive attitude about encouraging each other to get ahead in the mining business. The interactions were open and energetic. I was really encouraged."    Montreal 2011 Delegate
